UKSTAR Webinar Series 2018

Join us in February for a major event on our calendar; The UKSTAR Webinar Series. We will be joined by various experts in the fields of Test Automation, Test Management and Agile Testing to get you warmed up for the main event, The UKSTAR Software Testing Conference taking place in London on the 12th-13th of March.

From the 12th-15th of February we promise you a whole host of testing webinars and one great eBook from some of the best minds in testing.

To kick of this exciting series, we have Alan Richardson, present his webinar titled ‘Your Automation Does Not Need to Be Flaky’. This webinar is for you if you have accepted ‘flaky’ test automation. Alan believes that to describe and except your test execution as flaky is merely an excuse and he hopes to explore the myths of flakiness, so you never use those as excuses again! We are delighted to have a committee member on our series and it’s a great way to begin a special week of learning.

On the 13th of February, award winning software engineering consultant, author and coach, Paul Gerrard, will present ‘Future Test Management’.

When testing became a distinct activity in projects someone had to manage a test team and all that it entails and in turn with Agility, came uncertainty in the tester’s role and perhaps no role for a test manager at all. With DevOps and Continuous approaches, we need to redefine test management from scratch. In this webinar, Paul describes contemporary management, identifies skills and suggests how we need to manage test in the future.

Want to know the secret to becoming a better Scrum Master? Then attend Philiy Lander’s webinar on Wednesday the 14th and explore a very unique approach to the question, through Neuroscience.  Learn about the basic parts of the brain, how people learn, develop new behaviours, how stress affects the brain, and how you can use all this information to be a better Agile Coach. Philiy hopes that you will learn how to harness how the brain works and therefore work more effectively with your teams.

To close the UKSTAR Webinar Series, Katrina Clokie of ‘Katrina The Tester’ will deliver a very interesting webinar on ‘Automation & Management: Conversations to Create Trust’. Being successful with automation is not just about learning the technical skills required to implement a solution. It’s also important to have good conversations with your manager so that they have trust in the work that you’re doing. Katrina addresses the thought; “If you can’t successfully communicate what you do, and why, you may be the only person that thinks that you are an automation expert.” If you want to be seen as credible, to have people listen to you and be persuaded by what you’re saying, then tune in to Katrina on Thursday the 15th for some practical ideas on what to consider when participating in these three discussions with managers.
