Electronic Arts launches Ultima Online. The game will become the first successful massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), for Windows. It was the first MMORPG to reach 100,000 subscribers. Its success along with the improving internet connections round the world will pave the way for the explosive popularity of the MMORPG genre.
2000 – Intel release new Processors
On this day in 2000, Intel releases 800 and 850 MHz mobile Pentium III processors.
