2019 RisingSTAR Award Winning Idea

Hello everyone,

For my first update, I have put a short video together to introduce my winning idea and included a demo of using Jupyter Notebooks for blending automation into manual/exploratory testing.

I have also put a tentative outline together to provide some detail into what I hope to deliver over the course of the year.

There are three core areas:

Contribute – open source contributions and resources to enable people and foster community.

Content – a body of reference materials that describe and demonstrate a more inclusive approach and its benefits. This would be articles, webinars, and building a workshop.

Conversation – this is about starting a dialogue where automation can be reframed.  There are some pretty entrenched ideas about test automation that will need to be worked through. I’d like to start as a guest on some podcasts/panels to get word out. Ultimately I think a a dedicated podcast with guests sharing their experiences would be worthwhile. With a name like inclusive automation I think there should be some platform for highlighting other people’s efforts.

For now, wishing everyone a happy holiday and I look forward to keeping you updated in 2020!

Brendan
