A new TV series is due to air in September in the U.S. on CBS based on the life and work of Walter O’Brien. If you are not aware who Walter O’Brien is, he is a Co.Wexford native who at the age of 13 was hacking into NASA. He emigrated to the U.S. in the late 1990’s after graduating with a degree in Computer Science from Sussex University. He set up Scorpion Computer Services, specialising in international security, not long after he arrived. His company was instrumental in tracking down the Boston bombers back in 2013. Also he is currently considered the fourth most intelligent person in the world with an IQ of 197 (Einstein had 165). Walter was heavily involved in the casting and advising on the show. Rajesh Anandam, founder of ULTRA Testing explains why the company priorities hiring those with autism. The company was founded on the policy of hiring people on the autism spectrum. Those with Autism Spectrum Disorder tend to have good logical skills and maintain focus better on repetitive tasks than others. The company has already reached profitability and has grown its staff of testers (all on the autism spectrum) from three to ten. You can read the full story here.

CAST (Association for Software Testing) 2014 took place in New York over the past week under the title of “The Art and Science of Testing”. One of the interesting things to come out of the event was this testers manifesto. What are your thoughts on it?
