1999 – Intel reach an impasse
In an interview in the New York Times, Paul Packan a scientist working for Intel Corporation, states that the company has reached an impasse in regard to downsizing silicon transistors. Following the interview executives at Intel quickly state that they believe the problem is surmountable.
2006 – Google buy Youtube
Google make an announcement that it will acquire YouTube for $1.65 billion in stock. The buyout of Youtube comes hours after YouTube had announced that they agreed three separate deals with major media outlets in response to threats of copyright-infringement lawsuits. YouTube was launched in February 2005 by by former PayPal employees Chad Hurley and Steve Chen. It quickly became one of the most visited sites on the internet.
