1993 – EuroSTAR One
The very first EuroSTAR conference began on this day in 1993 in London. The conference was held for three days. Speakers included Speakers included Tom Gilb, Hans Schaefer, Geoff Quentin. Bil Hetzel, Stuart Reid, Paul Gerrard, Cindi Morreli and Neil Thompson. This year,EuroSTAR is celebrating it’s 21st year with the Conference held in Dublin.
2001 – Microsoft release Windows XP
On this day in 2001, Microsoft released the Windows XP operating system in home and professional editions. It featured the Windows NT kernel and an interface based on Windows 2000. It was publicised with the fact that it consisted of fifty million lines of source code. The new operating system retails at $199 for the new Home Edition and $299 for the Professional Edition with the upgrae editions retailing at a $100 cheaper.
