1986 – Tandy announces the Color Computer 3
Launched in New York, the Tandy Color Computer 3 is a new 128K RAM (upgradeable to 512K) computer. The system fetures output to a composite video monitor or analog RGB monitor with a keyboard and cartridge slot. The model is released to compete with the Commodore Amiga and Atari ST systems and retails at a price of $219.95
2005 – WiFi Record is set
At the annual DefCon hacker conference,a new Guinness world record for Wi-Fi connectivity is set by the team iFiber Redwire. With one computer positioned on top of a mountain in Nevada accompanied by a 12 foot satellite dish and a second positioned on a mound in Utah with a 10 foot dish , the team successfully connect the two computers 124.9 miles apart via an unamplified 802.11b link for over for three hours. The previous record set the year before at the same conference was 55.1 mile.
