 1856 – Birth of Nikola Testa

Nikola Tesla was born in Smiljan,  part of the Austrian Empire. He was the man responsible for developing A/C current and he also set the basis for wireless communication with his theoretical work.

 

 

 

 

 

 

2007 –  Jailbreaking introduced for iPhoneiphone jailbreak

Not long after the iPhone was introduced, a group of hackers announced that they have successfully “jailbreaked” the iPhone on an IRC channel.  The phrase comes from the action of  breaking the device out of its “jail”,  which is a technical term used in Unix-style systems.

 

 

 

 

 

2013 – “App store” is made free.

Apple and Amazon end their lawsuit over the use of the name “App Store”.  The original lawsuit began in 2011 when Apple filed a lawsuit against Amazon.com for using the phrase “App store” for its “Amazon Appstore Development Portal” claiming that it infringed on their own app store design. The claims were rejected by a District court Judge in January 2013. In July, Apple dropped the case.
