On This Day in Tech History: Major Events in Computer History – May 23rd

Acknowledging major events in Computer History, today we look at events that happened on this day. These include the launch of Casio FP-200 and PureBasic update.

 

1983 – Launch of Casio FP-200casio-fp-201

The Casio FP-200 handheld microcomputer is unveiled at the Japan Microcomputer Show at Ryutsu Center in Tokyo, Japan. Retailing for $300, the device features a 8-line x 20 character display, 8KB RAM, and 32KB ROM.

 

2008 – PureBasic

A new version PureBasic programming language is released (Version 4.20). The version includes a number of updates that make the language more similar to other Basic languages.
