Can you describe what is testing?

Testing: The process consisting of all lifecycle activities, both static and dynamic, concerned with planning, preparation and evaluation of software products and related work products to determine that they satisfy specified requirements, to demonstrate that they are fit for purpose and to detect defects.
Testing is the procedure of analyzing a program or its component(s) with the purpose to find whether it satisfies the specified requirements or not. In simple words, tests performing a program in order to recognize any holes, mistakes, or losing requirements in contrary to the actual requirements
