1942 – The First Patent for Wifi Technology
In the United States actress Hedy Lamarr and composer George Antheil receive a patent for a frequency hopping, spread spectrum communication system. The system which blocked the radio signals of torpedoes was initially refused by the U.S. Military unitl they decided to use the technology during the Cuban Missile crisis in 1963. The technology would form the basis for communication for WiFi, Bluetooth and other wireless devices.
1987 – Microsoft Windows 1.01
Microsoft launch the very first version of it’s operating system (OS) named Windows 1.01. The graphical user interface (GUI) of the operating system will prove to be a complete failure and not popular with users.
