A Different Me Podcast

Reading Time: 2 minutes

We would like to introduce you to a very special new initiative, our new podcast, A Different Me!

A Different Me is designed to get us talking about all things Diversity and Inclusion, whether that be in your personal life or the world around you. Come and join us, you are welcome to share a story with the wider community. A story that is important to you and you feel should be heard.

Before we start it is important to define what exactly is Diversity and Inclusion.

Diversity is any dimension that can be used to differentiate groups or people from one another (e.g. gender, age, sexual orientation, ethnicity, and disability).

Inclusion is a state of being valued, respected and supported. It generates a sense of belonging.

Diversity, on its own, is not the answer. A culture of inclusion is essential to harness the power of individual diverse elements.

Diversity & Inclusion are tricky topics to talk about – it can be emotionally charged, it is quite dynamic, it has the potential to offend so sometimes, it can be easier to just do nothing but, with this podcast, we want to provide a place for everyone to express themselves in a safe place. We need to start having real conversations.

Our hope is that by bringing together a wide mix of thoughts and voices would, at a minimum, help start a conversation that can bring us together.

Over the coming weeks we will open up a discussion from all walks of life regardless of sex, ethnicity, ability or background. Ask yourself; have we thought about how others are  different from us & how we can include them?

It may be about a challenge, a win, achieving a goal no matter how big or small or even a loss – our experiences and how we face them may help others to face theirs so let’s get talking!

I hope you will be interested in joining us in this movement of Inclusion and Diversity and welcome us on this journey.
