1941 – Victor Hayes is born
Victor Hayes often referred to as the “Father of Wi-Fi” is born on this day in Surabaya, Netherlands-Indies. in 1990 Victor became one of the persons responsible for establishing the IEEE 802.11 Working Group for Wireless LANs. He chaired the group from its establishment until March 2000 at which time his term of office was completed.
1996 – Windows NT is released
Windows NT 4.0 was released on this day in 1996. This version of the operating system features an update of the user interface to match Windows 95. The operating system includes some updates from Windows 95 including full window drag, high color icons, stretching the wallpaper to fit the screen and the 3D Pinball game.
2012 – Hotmail is revamped
Hotmail receives its first major update to its interface for a number of years. The online mail system is renamed Outlook and includes Facebook and Twitter links.
