1983 – Apple Introduce Lisa
In the U.S. at the Winter Consumer Electronics Show (CES) Apple Computer introduces the Lisa computer which retails for $9,995. The computer was developed by Apple over the previous number of years. The company has hoped to sell fifty thousand units in the first year. Eventually only about fifteen thousand will actually be sold. The system is based on the Xerox Star and was developed at a cost of approximately US$50 million.
2001 – Microsoft launch the Xbox
At the same Winter Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in 2001, Microsoft unveils the Xbox video game system. The games console features a 733MHz processor, a large hard drive, and a 250MHz graphics processor.
