Some of the major technology and computer events that happened on this day in history: the birth of the Ruby language and the Nintendo launches in Australia.
1993 – The Birth Of Ruby
In Japan, the programmer Yukihiro “Matz” Matsumoto, begins to work on the Ruby programming language. He will eventually release the language to the public in 1995. Designed to be simpler than Perl and more object-oriented than Python Ruby is an interpreted, object-oriented programming language.
2005 – Nintendo DS launches in Australia
In Australia, Nintendo releases the Nintendo DS(Dual Screen). The system features 4MB Mobile RAM with two ARM processors. The two screen featured are both 3-inch diagonal TFT LCDscreens. The DS is also enabled with IEEE 802.11 WiFi with range about thirty feet.
