Java is licensed from Sun and Microsoft find a Y2K bug in Windows 98. All on today’s On This Day from TEST Huddle.

 

1995 – Java licensed from SunJava

The company Adobe Systems announces it will license the Java programming language from Sun Microsystems. Adobe plan to integrate Java support into Adobe Acrobat as well as Adobe PageMill.

 

 

 

 

 

1998 – Microsoft find a Y2K bug

On this day in 1998, Microsoft admits to having found a Year 2000 (Y2K) bug in its most recent release of the Windows ’98 operating system and announces a fix to remedy it.
