1973 – Micro Computer Machines MCM/70
Mers Kutt of Micro Computer Machines officially introduces the MCM/70 personal computer on this day in 1973. The system is one of the first microcomputers in the world and is one of the first to be shipped pre-assembled. The system features an Intel 8008 processor, a plasma screen with one or two cassette drives, a keyboard and 2 – 8KB of RAM and 14KB ROM. The machine retails at $4,500.
2003 – The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) sues!
In the United Stages, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) takes action againist illegal downloaders of music with the industry association sueing 261 individuals in separate cases for allegedly distributing over one thousand copyrighted music files over peer-to-peer networks collectively. Among the defendants is Brianna LaHara, a twelve year old U.S. schoolgirl.
