On This Day in Tech History: June 8th

Examining Milestone Events on this day in Computer History. Today saw the release of PHP and Apple release Quicktime 4.0

 

1995 – First Release of PHPRasmus Lerdorf

Rasmus Lerdorf releases the first version of the popular scripting language PHP, version 1.0. Rasmus wrote the first two versions of the language and participated in the development of later versions. PHP is initially an acronym for “personal home page.”

 

 

 

1999 – Apple Release QuickTime 4.0

Apple releases QuickTime 4.0. The latest version features graphic exporting, support for the MP3 format, and support for streaming.
