1991 – iD Software Founded
One of the most influential early game developers id Software is founded in Dallas, Texas by four former Softdisk employees. The company will quickly become one of the most influential developers in the industry thanks to early releases including Commander Keen, Wolfenstein 3D, Doom, and Quake.
2004 – Mydoom Virus Hits!
The Mydoom virus becomes infamous after an estimated one million computers around the world are infected with the virus. The virus uses machines to launch a distributed denial of service attack (DDOS), the largest in history, with the first affecting the SCO Group.
