1957 – Control Data Corporation is Established
In the United States, the Control Data Corporation (CDC), a company that will lead the field of supercomputers, for many years, is incorporated. The company would develop the CDC 6600 in 1964. One of the most popular early super computers.
1995 – The Sega Saturn is released
On this day, Sega release the Saturn video game system in Europe. The console is Sega’s venture into 3D gaming. The console would seel 9 millions units worldwide but it’s lack of success against the Playstation and Nintendo 64 brought an end to Sega developing hardware.
