1983 – The Osborne Executive Portable Computer
In the United States, Osborne Computer announces The Osborne Executive portable computer. The computer features 128KB RAM, a 7-inch monitor with a detachable keyboard. It contains two 204KB 5.25-inch disk drives, two serial ports, and a parallel port powered by 4MHz Z80A. The system comes bundled with a range of software and retails for $2,495
2006 – Toshiba HD-DVD Player
Toshiba announce the launch of the company’s HD DVD high definition video disc format in the United States. The first release of the HD DVD players featuring the Toshiba HD-A1 and the Toshiba HD-XA1 both sell out within days of their release.
