Android Smartphones and Tablets Vulnerable to Attackmediatek

If your Android device uses a MediaTek chipset then you could be vulnerable to a software attack because of a security bug in the hardware. The MediaTek software has a “backdoor” that allows root access thus you could potentially give apps permission to access and change the read only properties on the device.

Could Linux Zero Day Bug Affect You?

Since this issue was released without prior notice to the Android Security Team,  we are now investigating the claims made about the significance of this issue to the Android ecosystem.

Adrian Ludwig, the head of security for Android comments on a bug recently found by an Israeli security company Perception Point. Perception Point report that the bug could allow access programmes or apps to access privileged permissions on the device or computer. Android have said the effects of the bug are overstated.
