Welcome to our weekly software testing news and Quotes of the Week from the world of software testing. We feature some of the software testing latest articles. Winners in Agile Methdology, Zephyr new cloud testing tool, the big software Fails of 2016 and more.

StatPro describes its Agile initiative as something of an “education process” with many of its clients, who now see the benefit of the methodology over the Waterfall approach. Clients used to be required to test entire applications, a process not needed with Revolution due to smaller, incremental changes being made with new functionality added iteratively. It was also easier to communicate to clients exactly what had changed and what needed and didn’t need testing.

Recently the  2016 American Financial Technology Awards took place. The Awards celebrate the Best in Financial Technology industry. One award was for the best use of Agile Methodology. Finding a company to acquire like True North Service has been a stroke of luck, providing us with an established customer base and location. We are excited about this acquisition and look forward to offering TNS’s customers with LogiGear’s full suite of testing, test automation and application development services.

Hung Nguyen, CEO of LogiGear explains the reasons for the company making the purchase of True North. True North, based in Seattle, Washington, was established in Seattle in 2007 and provides mobile testing games and apps for developers, operators, and storefronts. Read More about LogiGear here

 

Zephyr Announces ZAPI in the CloudZephyr

Hamesh Chawla, VP of Engineering for Zephyr explains how the company decided to release the their new tool ZAPI in the Cloud. The tool is a Zephyr for JIRA add-on that allows access to Zephyr’s testing data, including the ability to view and upload data programmatically. Read More here

The Software Fail Watch: 2016 in Review identified an unprecedented 548 recorded software fails, impacting 4.4 billion people and over $1.1 trillion in assets. This is a significant increase since the 2015 report.”

Continuous Testing Company Tricentis has released their software Fail Watch report for 2016. The report suggests a significant increase in software failures in 2016 that had both a monetary and wider impact on company’s and people. The report monitored software fails across a number of industry’s.  Read More here

 

9,000 SSL certificates wrongly validated by BugGoDaddy.svg

“Due to a software bug, the recently issued certificate for your domain was issued without proper domain validation, and in accordance with industry standards as a Certificate Authority, we will need to revoke your certificate as a precautionary measure.

The notification by GoDaddy sent to users of its services after the company spotted an bug that forced it to revoke thousands of SSL certificates. GoDaddy state the bug was in existance since July of last year but has only affected 2% of its customers. Read More here
