1997 – Intel investigated by Federal Trade Commission
The U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) makes an announcement that it is investigating Intel for allegedly illegal practices of withholding CPU sales to PC makers who buy competitor’s products. The company was investigated because of concerns that it was sharing intellectual property with three computer OEMs-Compaq Computer, Digital Equipment Corp. and Intergraph Corp.-that were suing the microprocessor giant.
2007 – The Big Bang Theory Débuts
Not testing related but still culturally significant, The comedy series The Big Bang Theory premiers with the episode “Pilot.” (No. 1). If you are not aware of it, the series centres around two socially awkward physicists who share an apartment together and the blonde waitress who moves in across the fall from them.
