Apple file a lawsuits against Steve Jobs and Mozilla release its first version of Firefox.  All on today’s On This Day from TEST Huddle.

Apple Computer files a lawsuit against Steve Jobs, claiming that he secretly planned to form a company using several key Apple employees and technologies.

 

2002 – Mozilla Firefox is releasedMozilla Firefox Phoenix

The first public version of the web browser Mozilla Firefox is released. The browser is named Phoenix 0.1. The browser went through a number of releases before the release of version 1.0. Firstly they changed the name due to trademark infringements with Phoenix Technologies. They changed the name to Firebird. This caused opposition from the Firebird database software project. Mozilla Foundation acceded to their pressure and  in February 2004, Mozilla Firebird became Mozilla Firefox. Version 1.0 was released on November 9, 2004.
