Intel chase Moore’s Law and the Godfather of Spam sentenced. All on today’s On This Day from TEST Huddle.

 

2001 – Intel chase Moore’s Law21terahertz

On this day in 2001, Intel announces that its researchers have developed the Intel TeraHertz transistor. The new transistor solves issues with bringing future chips into volume production that enable a whole new range of applications like face recognition and computing without keyboards. The technology development is an important milestone in the effort to maintain the pace of Moore’s Law where development had slowed in recent years.

 

 

2009 – Godfather of Spam Sentencedalan-ralsky

The so-called “Godfather of spam”,Alan Ralsky, is sentenced in Detroit  by a federal judge tofour years  in prison for wire fraud, mail fraud, and violations of the CAN-SPAM act after pleading guilty in June 2009. He began his spamming career in 1996, when his licenses to sell insurance were revoked in Michigan and Illinois.
