I recently found an old note with the “7 dwarfs testing approach” which is sort of comparable to the tours concep for exploratory testing I guess.
The 7 dwarfs are:
Happy – Take the happy path through the SW
Dopey – Do weird and unexpected things to the SW
Grumpy – Find all the stuff worth complaining about in the SW
Bashful – Does the SW make the user feel awkward or stupid anywhere?
Doc – Follow the instructions/manual/help file
Sleepy – Let the device enter sleep mode between actions.
Sneezy – Get SW and HW interrupts while using the SW
What I would like to know is if anyone knows where it comes from? It’s always nice to give credit where credit is due, but I have no record of where I found it.
I think it’s at least 5 years old, possibly up to 8 years old.
Never heard of it myself but I am sure there is someone in the community who can help.
Very interesting way to cover all aspects of exploratory testing to the 7 dwarfs. Tried to search for it, but sadly found nothing about this on the net.
Seems quite interesting topic and would be looking forward to hear something from our experienced community members.
