Experiences of Test Automation at Spotify

Kristian Karl

Spotify

Spotify wanted the manual testing effort to be focused as much as possible at feature testing, less on regression tests. But they still have to do regression, so they tried to automate a big chunk of that. Regression tests are run on their desktop, Android, iOS and WebPlayer clients, and also some backend services. In this webinar, Kristian Karl shares how far they have come.

Key Takeaways:

  • Learn what techniques, tools and methodologies Spotify tried
  • Find out which experiences have been good, and what hasn’t worked

About Me!

I have been working in the field of testing since 1994.  Even though my experiences are wide, like functional testing in the telecom business, to acceptance testing at government, my heart beats faster and stronger for test automation and performance testing. I founded graphwalker.org (former mbt.tigris.org) in 2005, as a project to implement a tool for Model-based testing. The last 2 years, I have been working at Spotify as a test manager.
