2004 – Total War: Rome is released
Activision releases the real-time tactics game Rome: Total War (RTW) for Windows. The game is a large sclae strategy game. Its new high-quality 3D graphics engine allows users to render thirty thousand men on a single battlefield. Another feature is the integration of the strategic and tactical views with the actual landscape of the battles the same as where these historic battles took place. The game will garner considerable critical acclaim, receiving numerous awards and nearly universal rave reviews.
2009 – The World’s First USB 3.0 Camera
Two companies Point Grey Research, Inc. and Fresco Logic demonstrate the world’s first SuperSpeed USB-enabled digital video camera. The device is also the world’s first device to feature USB 3.0 connectivity. The demonstration happened at the 2009 Intel Developer Forum(IDF) in San Francisco, California. The demonstration highlights the benefits of SuperSpeed USB by streaming uncompressed High Definition 1080p video captured by a 3 megapixel (MP) Sony IMX036 CMOS image sensor.
2011 – Facebook unveil some new features
Facebook rolls out a new slew of features to their site at the F8 conference. The 2011 F8 happened on September 22, 2011. Facebook introduced ‘Timeline’ that showed a history of user’s activity on their profile and also a broader version of ‘Open Graph’. The F8 2011 event focused on introducing new products, transforming industries, building and growing social applications and product Q&A.
