The Samy XSS worm becomes the fastest spreading virus in history.  The virus was spread through MySpace where the worm would display the string “but most of all, samy is my hero” on a person’s MySpace page. When a user visited that page, the worm payload would be planted on their own page.  Within 20 hours of its release, one million users had run the payload. The author of the worm, Samy Kamkar was arressted by the United States Secret Service in 2006. after entering a plea agreement on his charges, he was sentenced to three years probation without computer use, 90 days community service, and an undisclosed amount of restitution.
