A new Version of Word Perfect is released and one of the first major 3D graphics card is released. All on today’s On This Day from TEST Huddle.

 

 

1989 –  New Version of Word PerfectWord Perfect 5.1

Version 5.1 of the Word Perfect word processor is released for DOS by the WordPerfect Corporation. It is the first version to feature Macintosh-style pull-down menus in addition to the traditional F-key commands. It is also the first version of the software to include support for tables

 

 

 

 

 

 

1995 – The First Major 3D Graphics Card is Released3dfx-voodoo1

One of the first commercially available 3D graphics accelerator becomes available.  The company 3dfx Interactive releases its graphic card; Voodoo. QuakeGL (a GL port of Quake) will be the first popular game utilizing this new technology.
