1989 – New Version of Word Perfect
Version 5.1 of the Word Perfect word processor is released for DOS by the WordPerfect Corporation. It is the first version to feature Macintosh-style pull-down menus in addition to the traditional F-key commands. It is also the first version of the software to include support for tables
1995 – The First Major 3D Graphics Card is Released
One of the first commercially available 3D graphics accelerator becomes available. The company 3dfx Interactive releases its graphic card; Voodoo. QuakeGL (a GL port of Quake) will be the first popular game utilizing this new technology.
