1984 – Apple Release “1984”
On of the most influential commercials for a computer is released on this day in 1984. Directed by Ridley Scott, “1984” is a commercial for the upcoming Apple Mackintosh. It only airs on television twice. The commercial is released to cinemas and will becomes so popular that it will often be replayed for audience.
2007 – Storm Worm
The Storm Worm is first detected. The Worm creates a botnet by installing a Trojan Horse on computers running Windows. The worm will begin infecting thousands of computers across Europe and the U.S. on Friday, January 19, 2007. By January 22, it will account for eight percent of all malware infections around the globe.
