2008 – Microsoft Investigated Again euMicrosoft

On this day in 2008, the European Commission announce that they will re-investigate Microsoft relating to allegations of  anti-competitive behaviour on the part of the Microsoft Corporation. One allegation relates to a complaint from Norway’s Opera Software  over Microsoft giving away its Internet Explorer browser for free with Windows while the second investigation will look at if Microsoft deliberately withheld information from companies seeking to make their software compatible with Microsoft products such as its Office suite.
