Y2K fears start to rise and the Pandora Free Monitoring System is launched. All on today’s On This Day from TEST Huddle.

 

1999 – Y2K Preparation Begins

It’s reported by Reuters that the first of  expected wave of Y2K worms and viruses has been discovered. This virus titled W32/Mypics.worm is passed along unbeknownst by unsuspecting e-mailers.  The virus objective is to entice recipients to open the file where it then instructs infected computers to disable themselves.

 

 

 

2006 – Pandora FMS is releasedpandora

Pandora release version 1.2 of the Pandora FMS (Free Monitoring System). The package is a free set of programmes that allow analysis of the status and performance of several parameters of various applications, hardware systems, operating systems, and servers, such as databases, firewalls, proxies, routers, or web servers.
