Testers input in system requirements

Normally system architect or developers are responsible to write system requirements keeping in view either customer requirements or input form marketing department.

Is it a good idea to also add inputs form testing department or have a session with them to see their prospective w.r.t. system requirements ??

By system requirements, I am assuming you mean the hardware requirements… In that case, I don’t think the testing team is much involved while deciding on the system requirements. Only if performance testing is to be done, it a good idea to involve the testing team in the discussion.

@archana I used the term System requirements in a generalized way which can be meant for both HW and SW.
