On This Day in Technology and Computer history: May 25th

 

1982 – Laservision

In the United States, Philips electronics introduces the Laservision device as a playback media for laserdiscs. The larges discs for the player were 12″ in diameter and could be played on both sides.

 

 

2007 – Google Street View

In the United States Google launch Street View. The new platform is integrated into  Google Maps and Google Earth. It allows users to access 360° horizontal and 290° vertical panoramic views from any position along certain streets in Google’s maps.  Google Maps would be rolled out worldwide over the coming four years.
