  • Hi all,

    As titled really! I’ve been travelling in Portugal for a few months so my credit card currently hates me dearly. I was wondering if anyone had a spare bed or a floor I could sleep on throughout the conference?

    I’ve attended the last two years and don’t want to break my streak or miss out on all the great presentations and conversations…[Read more]

  • Hey Kim,

    a follow up question if I may, you said that ideally you’d be mocking services outside of the integration environment, but cost/effort may exceed the payoff for creating the necessary mock service. I wonder in the scenario where you’re creating low level functional tests in an integration environment, do you change your normal approach…[Read more]

  • Hey Kim and Ronan,

    just wanted to say thank you for a great webinar, I really enjoyed hearing how things work at Microsoft. I especially love hearing about how complex Microsoft’s approach is, the level of analysis going into the decision of whether a test case of worth running repeatedly or not is both impressive and astounding. I’d love to…[Read more]

  • Within my introductory blog post for EuroSTAR 2015, I boldly stated four issues I wanted to solve or gain more insight into and proactively selected which track talks I would attend to potentially address these, […]

  • It’s difficult to put into words just how stark the contrast is professionally for me to compare my situation in the lead up to EuroSTAR 2014 and now in the lead up to EuroSTAR 2015.  Last year I was working fo […]

  • Cheers Ronan, I’ll have to check it out, her book the Willpower Instinct is very good as well. Probably doesn’t contain too much information you don’t already know but an engaging read and it seemed to use different supporting evidence when compared to similar books

  • Not really a forum change as it were but a potential idea you guys might like to implement?

    Have you considered setting up some sort of mentorship service? Not even a very hands on approach but something as simple as a forum topic where people can post that they’re seeking to mentor or be a mentee? (Or better yet, become a manatee!)

    Being from…[Read more]

  • Hi Jags,

    can you explain a bit further please? I’m not 100% clear on your scenario

    From the sounds of it you should have a variable containing ‘answer1’ or whatever you want to answer to be in all cases.

    desired_result = ‘answer1’

    id = ${desired_result}

    Then you just need to change the value of desired_result to ‘answer3’ and it will apply…[Read more]

    No problem Anne-Marie! Sorry the above wasn’t a complaint, I was just concerned I hadn’t done something right more than anything. I look forward to hearing from you

    Sounds pretty awesome Kim, I find the best thing in these situations is to learn by doing. i.e. you don’t know how to handle certain problems until you experience them. You’ll notice you improve after each presentation without actually doing anything as you become gradually more relaxed.

  • Steve did suggest that but he also mentioned there was more to it, ‘Automation though can augment Manual testing.’ This suggests automation can be used for more beyond automated regression testing and can be leveraged to improve manual testing, for example by allowing me to jump to stage 19 of a 20 stage process by clicking a button rather than…[Read more]
